The Field Trip will begin with an orientation presented by Metro in its headquarters building. Following the meeting, we will board the Red Line subway and ride to the 7th St/Metro Center transferring to the Expo Line taking us to the temporary end of the line in Culver City. There our motor couch will take us to lunch at Carrow’s Restaurant. After lunch Ralph will guide us to see 7 new stations along 6.6 miles on the Westside. We will see the nearly completed bridges and track work. Famous historical stations such as Palms, Expo/Sepulveda, Bergamont Station and Downtown Santa Monica will be visualized in archival photographs and projected in our motor coach. When the line is completed, it is estimated that the travel time from Downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica will be approximately 46 minutes. We plan to return to the Metro Bus Plaza at approximately 3:30 p.m.
